Contract and Bill of Sale of Puppy

The following agreement is between the two parties as listed below for the sale and purchase of a puppy/dog.

Of note, the person/organization listed under the "Breeder Information" shall be referred to as “Breeder/Seller” and the person/organization as listed in the Buyer Information listed below, hereafter referred to as “Buyer” for the sale and purchase of the puppy/dog listed in the Identification of the Puppy/Dog section.

Buyer's Agreement & Contract Terms

The above-named dog is being sold as a Pet for the sum of $1,500.00. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required to reserve the puppy. The purchase of this dog is for companionship, hunting, trialing, and for breeding, unless otherwise noted, but not for confirmation show quality.

I have read and agree to the terms listed below:

The buyer agrees to be a responsible pet owner. The Buyer will accommodate and provide suitable shelter, proper nutrition, training, and quality veterinarian care.
The puppy listed in the contract has been examined and found to be in apparent good health and as such stated on the reciept of examination provided by the Breeder’s veterinarian. The Buyer has 72 hours to take the puppy to be seen by their own veterinarian. If the Buyer does not choose to have the puppy examined by his/her own veterinarian within 72 hours from when the puppy is picked up from the Breeder/Seller, the Breeder’s Health Certificate will be held as fact. If the Buyer’s veterinarian finds anything seriously wrong with the puppy, a letter from the examining veterinarian must be provided to the Breeder/Seller as evidence of the puppy’s illness or defect. A refund minus the non-refundable deposit will be granted if the puppy is returned within 48 hours of this finding. No refund will be made after this period of time.
The Breeder/Seller assumes no responsibility for this puppy after leaving the premises of the Breeder for any medical expenses, damaged property and/or injuries caused to any person.
If for any reason, the Buyer can no longer keep the puppy listed in the contract, the ownership of the dog will revert back to the Breeder/Seller. All AKC paperwork signed over to the Breeder/Seller must accompany the dog as well as all veterinarian records. Breeder/Seller will be contacted, and arrangements made for the dog at the Buyer’s expense.
This dog must not be sold, transferred, or given to any individual or to any retail or wholesale establishment for the purpose of sale, resale or breeding to the public or to any research institution where medical experimentation or other such practices take place.
Reasonable precautions (DNA Testing on Sire, Dam & Puppy) have been taken to prevent this puppy from acquiring hereditary faults such as hip and elbow dysplasia, juvenile cataracts, etc., however, due to unknown hereditary and environmental causes such as faults, no guarantee will be given against them.
If a hereditary crippling defect is discovered in the first 12 months of life, the Breeder MUST be contacted. Upon reception of a report from a license veterinarian, Breeder will determine appropriate accommodations for the Buyer such as a future list priority.

Breeder's Statement of Care of Puppy/Dog

We care for our dogs and the breeds we work with here at Austin Gun Club. With that concern in mind, we strive to locate the absolute best families to take care of and love our dogs throughout their life.
All of our puppies have been examined by our licensed veterinarian and found to be in sound health. Records are provided in puppy pack.
All of our puppies have been dewormed regularly and provided proper nutrition under our care.
It is imperative that the Buyer keeps the dog on an appropriate heartworm preventative and deworming schedule.
Please keep in mind the stress of transition to a new home, new food, and travel can cause a dog to experience a change in stool consistency.
It is recommended that you continue feeding your new dog with the food we have been providing while slowly integrating your diet of choice.
The food the dog is currently on is:
- Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy
  - 2 Cups Daily (1 Cup AM / 1 Cup PM)
  - Adjust as necessary based on the feeding guide on the packaging.
- Rogue Pet Science Top Dress:
  - 1 Tbsp Daily Origins 5 in 1 (1/2 Tbsp AM / 1/2 Tbsp PM)
  - 2 tsp Daily Goat Milk (1 tps AM / 1 tsp PM) This can be weaned off as the puppy grows or continued at your discretion.
  - Add water to moisten well, I use more than the package recommends. Mix well and feed. No need to let the kibble moisten.
If you are planning to spay or neuter we recomment you wait as follows:
- Females: Allow at least 1 heat but 2 if preferable.
- Males: Neuter at 18 months of age.
- Studies have shown the importance of waiting to spay and neuter for reduced illnesses later in life as well as full growth potential.

Buyer's Agreement and Signature

All sales are final unless otherwise stated in the contract. On the date of sale, all funds agreed must be delivered to the Breeder/Seller, and the dog must transfer possession to Buyer.

By signing, all parties agree to all clauses of this Contract.
